Christmas at the Rogers

Our Christmas morning started at about 9:30 am. Cody is the best sleep in kid ever!! I was afraid that I got Cody too much and he wouldn't appreciate his gifts because of being overwhelmed, but that was not the case at all. He loved everything he got and wanted to play with all of it right now.

Wyatt is such a good baby. He is just chills and never cries unless he is hungry. I kind of feel bad because I think he doesn't get cuddled enough, he is just too good.
After Santa had already built Cody's present, we asked Cody what he wanted and he said "A Choo Choo Train." We were so glad that Santa was so smart to have guessed that is what he would want.

It's called a Follow Me Thomas, and you use to lantern as a guide and it follows the light. Its pretty cool, even Russ and I like to play with it.
This is how Russ wanted to spend his whole Christmas day, just napping with baby Wyatt on his chest. Russ could spend hours on end in this position and never move. He always gets me and Cody to fetch stuff for him and uses the excuse "I can't do anything, I'm holding the baby. " Russ loves his babies.

Wyatt got a glow Seahorse for Christmas. He really didn't need anything, but I couldn't have nothing under the tree for him.
Russ got some clothes and a Blu Ray player for Christmas and I got a really nice Kitchen Aide. I have wanted one for so long, and was so excited to get it, that I even used it to make Chocolate Chip cookies on Christmas day.
Russ' parents came over later that day and brought the boys some really cute outfits and a Cody got a super cute backpack. Then in the evening we went over to my parents house and Cody got a sleeping bag with a flashlight and some books and puzzles. Wyatt got a folding rocking chair for camping (more of a gift for mom) and cute stuffed Reindeer. We all got spoiled this year.

Grandparents

We had to get pics of Wyatt with his Grandparents. I love that even though our kids Grandparents have multiple grandkids, they still get excited about each new one. Both Grandma's made Wyatt blankies and give him special treatment.

Wyatt with Russ' Dad, we kept getting after him for not keeping his little feet covered. We give Grandpa Rogers a lot of crap, but he is such a good Grandpa. He loves the kids so much and spoils every one of them. He has even been taking a lot of time off work to help Russ with his home improvement projects. We would be a in a lot of trouble without his help.
Grandma Rogers crocheted Wyatt the most beautiful afgan and quilted him the cutest crib quilt. I will have to post pictures later.

Grandpa Flint is the best cuddler. The babies love to be rocked by Grandpa, who never tires of it.

Grandma Flint is the spoiler!! She took an infant massage class so that she could give Wyatt and all the grankids massages and do baby yoga with them.
We don't know what we would do without Grandparents. They have seriously been life savers!!

Little Peepers

I finally got some open eye pictures of Wyatt, but the trade off is that he has a binky in his mouth. He has been such a good baby. He is starting to eat very well, but he is still pretty sleepy. I sent him to the nursery last night so I could get some good sleep, which I did. I figured if I had to stay here, I better make it worth it.

The great news is that his Ductus Arteriosis is completely closed this morning, so we were able to do the circumcision, poor baby. His bili level is still climbing, so we are going to get it checked out again tomorrow, then go from there.
We are so happy and couldn't feel more blessed. We love our two beautiful little boys.

More Pictures of Wyatt

Having a baby early in the day is so different from having one later in the night. I feel like I have had so much more time with not much to do. My midwife got me a little excited about maybe going home today, as long as I was feeling up to it and the pediatrician okay'd it. Needless to say, I am still here. The Pediatrician said that Wyatt has a pretty loud heart murmur caused by a patent Ductus Arteriosis. He said that it should close up and resolve by tomorrow, but he wanted to wait to do the circumcision until he was sure it is closed. If it isn't closed by tomorrow morning we will get an echocardiogram. We really aren't too worried, we just decided that it would be best to stay the night just to be sure.

They have a Christmas tree decorated in the Hospital, so we got a little family picture (including my nephew Hayden) to celebrate our Christmas baby.
The nurse in the picture with us is my Aunt Janet. She works post partum at McKay. She has been there for both of my babies.

Cody being very helpful pushing the baby in his bassinett through the halls. He is going to be such a helpful big brother.

The nurse just came in a told me the his Bili level is a little high, so we will have to get it checked again, and possibly go home with some lights if it continues to climb. Otherwise everything checks out just great. He is so sweet, and I am just loving every minute I get to spend with him.

Welcome Baby Wyatt!!

Our beautiful baby, Wyatt Flint Rogers, arrived yesterday, December 17, 2010 at 12:21 pm. He weighs 7 lbs and is 20.5 inches. He is absolutely perfect. The labor went great.

This was right before I started pushing. We were just waiting for my midwife to get there.

This picture shows a little much skin, but we did that on purpose because the hospital does a new program called Skin to Skin. They immediately put the baby right on my chest, and clean him up right there. It was a pretty cool experience.

Cody came to see baby Wyatt after I got to my room. He had the most amazed look on his face. He was loving giving baby Wyatt kisses. He went with Grandma to pick out a toy for the baby. He initially picked out a Teddy Bear, but put it back and traded it in for two trucks, one for Wyatt and one for him. Smart boy.

We think Wyatt looks just like Cody did when he was born.

Rescheduled

My induction got rescheduled for 7 am instead of 6 pm. YEAH!! This means I should for sure get to come home by Sunday!! I really didn't want to spend an extra day in the hospital because the baby arrived a few minutes after midnight. I hate hospital beds and I don't get any sleep when I'm there so it will be nice to get to come home to my bed a little earlier (hopefully).

I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. This will probably be while I'm still at the hospital because I get terribly bored and will need something to do to entertain me. Russ and I go stir crazy when we have to spend any time at the hospital. This is probably because we work at one, so it feels like we are at work without anything to do.

I can't wait to meet our baby Wyatt. I am a little concerned about the size of this fella, by ultrasound he is measuring almost 9 lbs. But I'm really not any bigger than I was with Cody, and I am only a little more uncomfortable. My guess is that he will be in the mid 7 lb range (crossing my fingers and thanking heaven for epidurals).

End In Sight

It is exactly 2 weeks until my induction date. I went to my doctor appointment today and he scheduled me for 6 pm on the 17th of December. Hopefully I will be moved up to an earlier time slot, but either way, it doesn't really matter. We will just be excited to have baby Wyatt here and healthy.
Russ has been working very hard on getting Wyatt a room ready. This is actually a pretty big project including framing, sheet rocking, and having a house under construction. Seems to be the way we like to celebrate inviting babies into our home.
One of my friends at work gave me the idea that I should get Cody a baby doll with a binky, blanky, and bottles. That way when I am taking care of Wyatt, Cody can be taking care of his baby. This will hopefully reduce some of the jealousy. Today I found a boy baby doll and a few accessories. I will keep you all updated on the success or failure of this experiment.

Just Ducky

There are some ducks that frequently visit our lawn. We don't know who they belong to, but they are rather pesky. They come running at us in hopes of getting fed every time we are outside. Cody is a little afraid of them, but he is brave enough to yell at them to "GO AWAY DUCKS" if they are properly separtated by a railing and a flight of stairs. We had just pulled up into the driveway and he so daringly ran at them to yell "go away," but he was the one who ended up running away screaming. I tried to get my camera out faster, but was unable to capture the full hilarity of the situation.

He regained his bravery at the top of the porch. Here was able to yell and scold. They look terribly frightened and intimidated don't they??
He is so proud of himself for getting a safe distance between them. I must admit they are freakishly large ducks, and when you are 2, I'm sure they are quite frightening as a flock of them is charging you ready to steal the french fry right out of your hand. I did get a pretty good laugh out of it though, it was one of those moments that just made my day.

Tonsils... who needs 'em anyways??

Poor Cody had to get his tonsils and adenoids taken out yesterday. They were so swollen they were touching. He didn't get a lot of sore throats or anything, but he was snoring and becoming apneic at night. He also wasn't swallowing his food well at all. He would chew chew chew, and then spit it all out because there just wasn't any room for it to go down.
****
The good news is, he is doing AMAZING!! We can hardly tell that anything even happened. He was a whiney baby for about one hour after the surgery and then he was running all over McKay Dee pediatrics unit. We couldn't contain him. Thankfully they let us come home last night. Spending a night in the hospital with him would have been pure torture for all of us.

This was the surgery prep room. They gave him the cute blanky, but he didn't really care about it, he just wanted his own blanky. They knocked him out with gas before placing the IV and starting the general anesthesia, which was way nice.
This was about an hour after surgery. They had me get in the bed with him and cuddle for the first hour, then it was daddy's turn. Poor kid threw up a couple of times, but after that first hour he was a champ. He was so stoned it was hilarious. He hated being hooked up to the BP cuff, sat probe, and IV, but luckily that only lasted about 3 hours. The one thing he hated that we couldn't get rid of was the hospital gown. But he loved the hospital sockies.
He ate lots of popcicles and drank root beer. He even ate Mac and Cheese by 4 pm.
The pictures are out of order, but we had him tell us AWWW one more time before he got rid of his tonsils.
*****
Both of his Grandma's and Grandpa's came to see him after he got home. They were also shocked at how well he was doing. He was up and playing, just running around like his usual self, except maybe a little crooked due to the effects of narcotics. My mom and dad brought him a quillow (a blanket that folds into a pillow) with tractors and trucks on it and a toy dump truck, which he loves. Our good family friend, Gail, sent him a tonka truck that he still hasn't stopped playing with. I don't have any pictures of it because right now he is taking a nap with all of his new loot.
*****
By today he was going stir crazy!! He was coming up with every excuse as to why we needed to leave the house. He needed to go to Grandpa's, the store, for a ride in daddy's truck, outside to play with cars.... you name it, he came up with it. So we finally decided to take him to the Air Force Museum, that way he could just ride around in the stroller and look at airplanes. YA RIGHT, by the end he was pushing the stroller and running all over.
*****
He is such a tough little cowboy. We are so proud of him and are so glad that he is doing so well.

Baby Update

Everything is going very well. Wyatt is growing as expected, his estimated weight as of last Friday was 4 lbs 11 oz. My midwife predicted that he will be somewhere in the mid 7 lb range when he is born. This is also where Cody was predicted to be, but was actually in the mid 6's. We shall see.
***
I am still set to deliver this baby on Dec 17th. It is really nice to have an induction date set. Yes, I do realize that I could go into labor before that, but I really just don't see that happening. Wyatt is a constant mover, he especially loves meal time and apples. His little legs are all over the place, including in my ribs. I love this part of being pregnant. People can actually tell that I am pregnant, not just fat, and I love feeling the baby move.
***
I have a little less than 6 weeks to go. This is exciting and scary all at the same time. I have never been one to wish my pregnancy to be over, I love being pregnant. Don't get me wrong I am excited to have my baby here when it is time, but it seems like time is flying by so fast. I still have lots to do.
***
I will be graduating December 3rd, the day before my Birthday (well, at least that is when the last assignement is due). This will seriously be the best Birthday ever. I have told Russ that he really doesn't need to get me a thing because no gift could ever top never having to return to Weber State again!! On top of all that, I get a baby for Christmas. What could be better??
***
Cody is starting to maybe grasp the idea of a baby in Mommy's tummy a little bit. He likes to point to my belly and say, "Mommy's baby" and he lifts up my shirt and kisses my tummy. He doesn't think its so great when he is trying to sit on my lap and read stories. He just can't get comfortable and tries to push and jab the baby out of his way.

SeaWorld

After 2 days at Disneyland, we headed down to San Diego and spend a day at Seaworld. We saw the whales or "big fish", dolphins or "dolpins", and enjoyed a day in the sun.

Cody of course had to go on the rides.
He loved petting the Sting Ray's. They like him too, they would flock to him five at a time.

The Dolphins were very curious, and Cody had a fun time watching them because they would come right up to the glass.

Seaworld was way fun, but I think that Disneyland was our families favorite.

Disneyland

We had so much fun on our vacation. We spent the first 2 days in Disneyland, I wish we could have spent one more. Cody loved going on the rides. He had a hard time waiting in line, so thankfully there weren't 5 million people there. It was funny though, because he would start getting inpatient but then he would say "wait your turn." Then when we would get on the rides he would say, "hold on tight." He loved all of the rides, and went on everyone that he was big enough for, roller coasters included.

The end of October is the best time ever to be in Disneyland. There are less people, the weather is perfect, and it is decorated so cute.

This is the whole gang. We went with our friends Chris and Candice and their girls Reese and Tatum. It was so much fun vacationing with them. Chris is mine and Russ' boss, and Candice is also a nurse. They were awesome company.

Cody loved to ride the train. We had to do it a couple of times so that he could see the Grand Canyon and the Dinosaurs. The whole time we were riding he would yell "Choo Choo" as many times and as loud as he could.

Cody was Woody for Halloween, so we had to get pictures of the big Woody in the street parade.

Cody and Russ in the Teacups. We got it spinning pretty good, and Cody just giggled the entire time. I was worried that he might be afraid of the rides and we would have wasted our money, but he is a tough kid and just giggled on every one of them and just wanted to do more.

2 Year Old Pictures

We finally got Cody's 2 year old pics. I was waiting for the leaves to change color so I could get some good fall pictures. My friend Emily that I work with came and took them. She did a really good job and Cody was in love with her by the end.

Thanks Emily for putting up with us, you did such a great job and Cody still talks about you.

Only 9 Weeks Left

I went to my 30 wk appt last Friday and everything is looking great. Wyatt flipped, so he is officially head down. I am crossing my fingers and hoping he stays that way. Everything is still all systems go and we are set to deliver this boy on Dec 17th. That means I have a little less than 9 weeks. This is exciting, but also makes me nervous because it is coming so quick and we have lots to get done before he arrives. The best news is that I will be done with school in less than 6 weeks, so that will give me about 3 weeks to hopefully get lots done.
*****
We leave for Disneyland and San Diego this Saturday. We are so ready for a vacation. We are going to be gone for 10 days and we couldn't be any more excited.

New Baby

Last Friday Cody and I loaded ourselves in the Tahoe and headed up to Logan to hang out with my friend Janalee and her to cute little kiddos. She just had a baby about three weeks ago, and we wanted to go meet baby Kale. We decided that 2 year olds are incapable of sharing, so we gave up on making Cody and Brynlee "share" after about 30 minutes. We went to McDonalds for lunch so that the kids could play on the toys and we could chat without being interupted every one second with 2 year olds whining about how they were wronged by each other. Haha, as if that actually worked. I am a dork and didn't get any pictures of the baby, but I thought these two eating miniature ice cream cones was hilarious.
I think I went back for more napkins at least twice!! They were the teaniest cones, but leave it to a couple of 2 year olds to make an incredible mess.
These two little blond hair blue eyed cuties were hilarious to watch interact. They were both in desperate need of a nap (so were their moms), but just kept on playing and arguing.
We had lots of fun visiting. Thanks Janalee for letting us come mess up your home and letting us give that new baby Kale kisses. We'll have to play again soon.

Cody's 2nd Birthday

Cody's birthday fell on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend this year. We drove up to my parents land that day for a cookout and did a small birthday celebration. I made him a caterpillar cupcake cake for easier transport. He just loved to lick the frosting off of them.
All the kids piled into the back of my Tahoe to pose for pictures. It was incredibly windy that day, and trying to keep warm was a bit of a challenge. We couldn't even get the candles to light.

Big cheesy grins all around. Cody is so lucky to have cousins that love him so much, and they even get along most of the time.
The pictures really don't do the cake justice. I had tons of fun making it though.
******
I took Cody to his 2 year well baby check and he is below average in everything. I thought he was a big kid, but guess I was wrong. He is only 40th percentile on height and weight. I'm really not too concerned though because he is a smart active kid that fits into the clothes made for his age. He is starting to talk in 3 or 4 word sentences and loves to read books every chance he gets. He continues to make us laugh on a daily basis, and we really can't get enough of that kid.
******
He still doesn't get the concept that we are having a baby, but I'm sure when it gets here he will understand well enough!!

Catching Up!!

I have gotten terribly behind on my blogging!! This summer we didn't do anything huge, just a lot of fun small things.
******
One of my favorite highlights was the Raspberry Day's Rodeo in Bear Lake. My nephews competed in the Muttin Bustin competition for their very first time, and Hayden won. He was so excited about winning, that he didn't even care that his brother, Jake, kept running off with his trophy to get pictures as though he was the winner.

They all got T-Shirts just for competing, but Hayden got the huge trophy for winning. We were all so proud of him!!

Cody had lost his patience with the Rodeo, he has a very hard time sitting still for very long. We were trying just about everything to keep him entertained, and so were the sweet people sitting all around us.

My favorite boys!!

*******
Earlier this summer, Cody and I went to the Zoo with my sister and her kids. He loves hanging out with his cousins.

He was very interested in the Lion drinking fountain. He got back in line to get a drink about 20 times.

At first he thought it was for washing his hands.

It seems like the time has flown by. Now it is dark by 7:30 at night, and I am pretty sad that summer is already gone. It doesn't help that I am back in school. Thankfully it is my last semester, and I am on track to graduate right before the baby is due. Hopefully he doesn't get too anxious to get here.
