Tricks and Treats

Hurricane Sandy postponed Halloween this year. We actually did the ward Trunk or Treat a week before Halloween and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!! We wore T-shirts it was so warm. Well that all ended a few short days later when Sandy hit. We didn't get anything too crazy as far as the weather, it just rained for 6 days straight with absolutely no break and we have yet to see the sun re-appear. It has been bitter cold, so all of the neighborhoods in our area decided to wait until today to do trick or treating.

We spent the day making the kids vacuum the couches. Just kidding, it's their favorite and Cody loves to do it every day.

Wyatt chilling on the cushions that are just too hard to get back on. He looks so big in this picture.
We went and had dinner with the neighbors and then started trick or treating.
Our neighborhood is the bomb when it comes to Halloween. People sit out in their driveway with fires going, handing out hot chocolate (with a little alcohol on the side to add to it if you'd like),  and passing out full size candy bars to the kids.

This is most of the trick or treat crew.

This is the candy Cody scored. His bag was so full and so heavy he couldn't even carry it by the end.
 Wyatt did pretty well too.
My cute little bug was pretty tired by the end, he just wanted to get home out of the cold.
I was really glad that we could wait to trick or treat until the weather got a little bit better, otherwise we would have just missed out on trick or treating because it was SO COLD on halloween, it even snowed a little bit.

Most recent trip to Utah

We didn't really do anything major this last time in Utah, but as always, we sure had a lot of fun!!
My kids are amazing travelers. They do so well on the plane. Probably because they have so much practice. This was somewhere around 6am, ya we had a VERY early morning getting to the airport.

First order of business, taking Jake to horse riding lessons.

The kids got to spend a lot of time with both grandparents. Grandpa Rogers is always my go-to baby sitter when I'm in a pinch. He has so much time off at work and doesn't really have to plan ahead. I am so grateful for this, because that is what makes it possible for me to continue to visit Utah so often.

We took the kids to the Ogden Nature Center to do the Creatures of the Night program. It  was a lot of fun, they had so many activities for the kids. Cody made this bug cage with the Home Depot kid project they had set up.

Cody hanging out with Baby Abbi. We love this girl, she is so dang cute!!

Wyatt had a little accident and split his eye open on my parents table. We did a little home doctoring and now it looks like nothing even happend.

Our amazing friends FINALLY had their first baby. We have been giving Gavin and Caroline a hard time about having kids ever since we had Cody. Well they finally gave in and now they have an amazing little boy named Henry. He is absolutely sweet and cute and cuddly and we fell immediately in love with him!!

If you haven't already noticed, Cody LOVES babies!! He has been telling me on a regular basis that we need to have another one, and most specifically a baby girl. Sorry little buddy, but your gonna have to wait a little bit longer!!
I was able to work all of my shifts at work and then got to spend a little extra time getting caught up on all my work education. I LOVE my coworkers and after floating to Shock Trauma ICU, my love for Thoracic ICU was re-affirmed!! I love the patient population that I get to work with in TICU.

Kathy's Wedding

I've been waiting for these pictures for a couple of months so that I could do this post, and I am so excited that they are finally here. If you remember from a previous post I told all about Kathy's wedding, well here is the photographic documentation.

The whole family group.

Our side of the family.

 Russ and Wyatt
Okay, I know that every parent thinks that their child is exceptionally cute, so all I'm going to say is this: There were more repeat pictures of my children than their were of anybody else's, Just sayin!!
Especially Wyatt, He and the photographer bonded. Every time I rounded a corner there she was taking a picture of him.
 Russ helping his cute Grandma
Downstairs in the reception center they had games set up for the guest to go down and play.
I felt so bad we missed it, but Wyatt was giving Kathy the CUTEST kisses, so this is what we got instead.

 Decorating the get away vehicle.

As a side note, I have to put in a little plug for Kid to Kid. I was able to score both of my kids awesome outfits from there. I had to visit a couple of them, but it was so worth it for the amazing deal I got on so many cute clothes and shoes.
